Seeds were planted…
These seeds are a “radical” notion of stewardship that
can and will, by God’s grace, allow for the spread of the gospel
at a faster pace than ever dreamed of in developing countries around
the world.
Ideas and techniques introduced…
For the first time, many of the ministry leaders learned that there
was no shortage of funds to perpetuate and expand their worthy ministries.
Instead they learned that God has supplied ample resources to accomplish
all He wants to accomplish. The challenge that they were left with was
not “is there enough money and resources” but rather “how
do I begin cultivating good stewards of those finances and resources.”
The Leadership in Fund Development Workshop held in Bangalore, India
provided an intense forum to educate ministry leaders in the Biblical
principles of stewardship and the practical tools for fund development.
This four-day workshop covered four conceptual cornerstones:
• Biblical principles of financial stewardship;
a foundation which bridges all cultures.
• Organizational worthiness; a good steward
only makes financial commitments to ministries that have proven integrity.
• Strategic planning; a ministry without a
strategically planned future warrants little stewardship consideration.
• Fund development principles, methods, and skills;
here the tools are provided to replace crisis motivated fund raising
with a ministry of stewardship that results in predictable financial
resources.
End results…
The overall effectiveness and impact of this workshop remains to be
seen and will likely take years to “measure”. However, some
short-term benchmarks may be a good indicator of things to come.
