INTERNATIONAL STEWARD recently provided intensive training for 65 ministry
leaders in the country of India. For the first time, many church and
parachurch leaders learned and discussed the Biblical principles of
stewardship.
These two workshops conducted in Hyderabad and Bangalore, India were
the launching pad for a two-year mentoring program for these leaders.
Discussions during the workshops focused on a 4-pronged approach to
comprehensive fund development. The workshops began with a thorough
review of the Biblical principles of stewardship. They concluded with
very practical tools for these leaders to encourage people locally toward
financial involvement in their ministry.
Strategic planning and organizational integrity were then discussed
as key components for any ministry that desires financial support. During
our time together, these leaders began putting together a future plan
for their ministry as well as a plan to communicate to others the mission,
vision, and effectiveness of their ministry.
These leaders now understand that developing effective stewards of God's
resources is the requisite for their ministries to be fully funded.
This is the key to breaking their crippling economic dependence upon
western funding which will allow them to expand their ministries. Please
pray for these workshop participants as they begin to go out and challenge
others toward stewardship and financial involvement.
