encourage the grace of giving? |

God has a unique plan
for His people. He has called each of us to share his Good News
with the whole world. Furthermore, He tells us that He has a financial
plan to accomplish this goal. In God's economy He has entrusted
all the resources necessary to accomplish all He desires. As stewards
of God's resources, we are called to grow in the grace of giving.
Only as we mature in our stewardship are resources freed to advance
God's kingdom. |

| What
kind of person gives to INTERNATIONAL STEWARD? |

That is the question
we are continually asking ourselves. The best answer is: “someone
like you.” True as this is, we wanted a description
of those who give to I.S.
After much thought, we have “defined”
the many faithful stewards toward I.S. as:
1. Committed to the instructions Jesus gave us to take the Good
News to everyone … not just those convenient to reach. They
rise above personal impulses and comforts to effectively use God’s
resources.
2. People of initiative … they understand what it takes
to make a difference.
3. Free of the subtle dependence traps in our own culture. They
understand personal responsibility.
4. People who can look beyond themselves and the “moment”
to see a long term solution to a problem that has developed over
time.
People who tend not to give to INTERNATIONAL STEWARD
are:
1. Those who need an immediate “bang for their buck.”
While there are immediate effects of this ministry, the ultimate
goal will take years to reach.
2. Those who prefer applying band-aids to the symptom rather curing
the cause.
3. Those who must experience something personal in return for
their giving.

to the growth of His church around the world. Just this year (2002),
over 500 influential ministry and business leaders in countries around
the world have been introduced to stewardship. As a result, ministries
are beginning to be funded locally for God’s glory. |

are simply strengthening the ties of dependency between the affluent
world and the developing world. INTERNATIONAL STEWARD is attacking
the problem and freeing the emerging church from prolonged economic
