About INTERNATIONAL STEWARD

The Beginning

Dr. H. Charles (Chuck) Roost attended an international missions conference while serving as Missions Pastor of Kentwood Community Church. International leader after leader spoke from the platform praising God for the wonderful opportunities He provided their missions. Yet, leader after leader, each proceeded to lament the need for funds from somewhere to pursue or even maintain these blessings of God.

Chuck began to tally the number of missions he felt led to raise funding support. His decision was to return home and campaign to support these worthy missions. But he realized the accumulated total he would need to raise was more than he could single-handedly effect.

Returning home from the conference, Chuck knew there had to be a way to fund all of these continuing and potential ministries without the need of outside sources.

The Birth

In 1999, with the support of his church, Chuck established INTERNATIONAL STEWARD. He designed a curriculum to give majority-world ministry leadership grounding in biblical truths of financial stewardship and the tools for fund and resource development. With these elements, ministries would become both self-sufficient and strengthen their communities with the biblical principles to develop stewards.

Today

INTERNATIONAL STEWARD continues to reach majority-world churches, mission organizations and seminaries. Changes in lives, ministries and cultures are testimony to the desire of financial stewardship and a break from dependence on outside sources for funding.

  What INTERNATIONAL STEWARD Does

INTERNATIONAL STEWARD teaches Christian leaders with a three day workshop – Leadership Through Stewardship and Resource Development. – where men and women are challenged in their perspective of managing personal and ministry resources. Both lecture and interactive sessions allow for them to learn biblical information and to develop mission and vision statements, create communication plans, and practice communicating the purpose of their missions.

  What INTERNATIONAL STEWARD Believes

     1)   All we have is owned by God and is entrusted to us as His stewards;
     2)   We must first develop the steward in each person to be aware of his/her charge by God;
     3)   There is no shortage of resources, only a shortage of stewards;
     4)   Ministries are not in competition; there are enough of God’s riches for all ministries;
     5)   All ministries can be self-sustaining with local resource development.
